GN self-container mud
recycling system is an economic solution in the long run, because it can be
applied for many different projects, if there is no space limit, it could be
your best option. We do not mean that the premier mud recycling system must be
expensive, compared with the technical specifications, it is reasonable. We use
3 phase cleaning( shaker, desander,
desilter)
rather than the traditional 2-phase cleaning(
shaker with desilter cone), it can separate most of the coarse solids from the
drilling mud so you can re-use the water.

High Configuration 500GPM Mud Systems for HDD Rigs

Among all the fields that GN Solids Control
is professional in, HDD Rig’s mud recycling systems or
units are one of the most important and specialist one. Since its establishment
years ago, GN has been providing large HDD contractors in and out of China.
Now, like the largest HDD project contractor in China, CPP, is a long-term
client of GN Solids Control, at beginning of this year, CPP signed order to GN
Solids Control, with 8 sets of 500 GPM mud recycling system, with the highest
configuration.

Each year, GN will produce tens of such
systems, mostly for clients from market abroad, like Australia, Thailand,
Singapore, India, Kuwait, and some countries in Africa. GN has a series of
mature products of mud recycling systems for HDD, with most popular treating
capacity as 200 GPM, 350 GPM and 500 GPM. Of those, 500 GPM systems are most
frequently used in China.

For the same capacity systems, 500 GPM, GN
has different configurations for option, both economic configuration and
premium configuration available.

The most difference between the economic
configuration and premium configuration is the treating equipments. This time,
for the order of CPP, it is the premium configuration, with shale shaker, desander cones with under shaker, desilter cones with under
shaker and 2 sets of decanter centrifuges. For a normally economic
configuration, there is some times a mud cleaner which is combined by a mud shale shaker, a desander and a
desilter, and in most cases there is no centrifuge. And when more treating
equipments are used, there will be larger surface for them, accordingly, the
storage capacity is enlarged.

In case of Piling work or TBM projects, the
mud system, or so called slurry plant is simpler. Normally the slurry for such
projects is not requested to be treated so fine, so there is no need for
desilter cones, only to choose enough desander cones according to the desired
treating capacity. And for Piling mud systems, there is no mixing facilities.

Closed Loop Drilling Mud Solids Control System Minimize the Waste on Drilling Liquids

nowadays the drilling liquids is broadlyutilized in drilling projects and underneath the strict regulation on atmosphere protection, the ways to minimize the release of environment hazardous waste solids and maximum the drilling liquids recovery must be the mainstream subject in the industry.

The drying equipment could be different due to that the water based mud or oil based mud can be used. A higher G drying shaker is the best for water based drilling mud cuttings. GN Decanter Centrifuge to Africa Customer

As an expert in solids control equipment andsystem, GN solids control manufactures and exports a complete set of
solids control equipment and system including shale shaker, desander, and
desilter and decanter centrifuge. At the beginning of this year, GN solids
control received a repeated order that a customer with which GN has cooperated
for more than three years, and this customer is satisfied with GN decanter
centrifuge

updated its design for more stable and better performance with several update.

The updated decanter centrifuges still has
the below advantages of the last edition.

1. The
cylindrical and conical section of the bowl is made from duplex stainless steel
2205 which is better than stainless steel 316L. Stainless steel 316 is always
adopted by China’s other solids control company; even stainless steel 304 is
adopted.

2. The bowl is manufactured by centrifugal cast which means that the bowl has a
better balance. Only the decanter centrifuges pass the balance test, they can
be delivered.

3. Tungsten
carbide tile is attached on the screws to protect the screw from wear, and when
the tungsten carbide tiles is worn out, it is easy and convenient to replace
with re-doing the balance test.

For the updated decanter centrifuge, there
are more advantages:

1. Solids
discharge cover is added above the solids discharge port to prevent the solids
discharged to the inner cover of bowl.

2. Special
ceramic mud distribution port on the screw will extend the decanter centrifuge’s
service life.

GN solids have made it policy that GN
solids control will keep to update its product for better service and provide

Hydrocyclone Installation

The mud that contain drilling cuttingreach the ground surface, the process of filtering begin start with shale shaker that contain the shale shaker screen indifferent mesh.  The whole process also
depends on the ratio of liquid and solids in the mud as well.  While treatment through shale shaker screen is necessary, it is
far from enough and that is what hydrocyclone come to use to take the
filtration to next level.

 Hydrocyclone filter less aggravate
solids that is size 15-20um, after the shale shaker.  It is install convenient to flow bottom and
also convenient for maintenance and monitoring the filtration of the drilling
mud.  The large (10 inch) diameter of
hydrocyclone should be install on upstream and the small (4 inch) diameter of
hydrocyclone should be install follow by large ones.  The hydrocyclone need to pair with drilling fluid tank and centrifugal pump.

 GN Solids
Control’s desander
have installation of 10 inch hydrocyclone
which contain between from 1 cone to 3 cones to meet the different filter
need.  To take the filtration further, it
pair with shale shaker that is detachable for convenience in change machinery
to meet the project need and maintenance.
The 4 inch hydrocyclone is for GN Solids
Control’s desilter
which contain between 8 cones to 16
cones.  The structure of the desilter is
same as desander that pair with shale shaker as well.  The desander will remove the +40 microns of solids
and desilter will remove +20 microns of solids.
The shale shaker pair with desander and desilter is linear motion with
either 2 Martin or  2 OLI brand motor
which can produce adjustable G force up to 7.5 G of force. The panel of screen
are choice of  2, 3  and 4 depend the need of the drilling
project.  All equipments construct in
explosion proof and meeting different region’s explosion proof standard.
